Iconic community festival, The Dunedin Midwinter Carnival returns for the solstice with the theme “Creatures of the Deep”.
This June 21 and 22 we are inviting you to First Church to celebrate the wonderful world of water and the fascinating creatures that live above and below the surface. From soaring albatross to terrifying taniwha, experience it all!
Dazzling lantern installations will illuminate the site, while roving costumed performers will manoeuvre through the crowds. The ever popular projections will once again radiate from First Church itself, and Brophy Aerials will be frolicking amongst the coral reef high in the trees. Mini lantern processions will wind through the grounds, lighting up the night and the faces of those involved. Plus dance performances by local troupes, local live music, your favourite food trucks and SO much more!
Entry to the Carnival will be $5 for children (15 and under), $10 for adults (16+), OR $25 for a family pass (2 adults, 2 children). All ticket prices will incur a booking fee.
Tickets are available now via the ticket button, or via our website, and will be sold for 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm sessions to spread out the audience and ensure a positive and safe experience. Gate sales will be subject to availability.
Early time slots will sell out so to avoid disappointment secure your tickets today!
We are pleased to once again be offering our pay-it-forward option, this allows the pre-purchase of tickets which will then be distributed to partner agencies to disperse to families they engage with.
