Join us to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with the Dunedin Children's Choir, MC Melanie Kerr and pianist Ozan Biner-McGrath!
At 2pm, on Saturday the 7th of December, we will take you on a musical journey of joy, peace and hope. Renowned MC Melanie Kerr will guide you through this joyful celebration with her natural warmth and energy, where you will hear slower moving numbers to toe-tapping jingles.
We will be collecting funds and gift donations that will be donated to children and families in need this Christmas, distributed by St Vincent de Paul and Presbyterian Support Otago. We are grateful for the support of Mercy Parish Whānau Aroha.
Some ideas for donations:
- Cash donations of all amounts are gratefully appreciated
- Gifts
- Experience vouchers for a family to enjoy (such as a pass for Moana Pool, or another activity in Dunedin)
These are ideas, however we invite you to be creative with what you would like to gift this Christmas season.
This concert will also be Livestreamed on Youtube! The livestream link will be posted on our Facebook page ahead of our event: www.facebook.com/dunedinchildrenschoir
2024 has been a successful year for the Dunedin Children's Choir. The Chamber Choir came home with a Silver Diploma, Level 6 from the World Choir Games where they performed successfully in the Auckland Town Hall in July! The whole choir has also performed in Tūhura Otago Museum in October.
We (the DCC) are comprised of 7-12 year olds from across the Dunedin region and from a range of primary, intermediate and secondary schools. We rehearse on Wednesdays at 4.50-5 at Flagstaff Community Church in Helensburgh and welcome any child to join who loves to sing.
To find out more about what we do, and if you are interested in your child joining next year, we would love for you to come along this concert, and check out our website at: www.dunedinchildrenschoir.co.nz
