Canterbury Half Marathon

The Canterbury Half Marathon is being held on Sunday 8th of December 2024 at Pegasus Town. This beautiful lake and town setting will host the Canterbury Half Marathon and 9km Run and Walk.

Held in the beautiful Pegasus Town, the run will see runners run around the lake and experience amazing water views, walkways and some amazing homes in this amazing town setting.

Canterbury Half Marathon will cater for all runners; whether you’re a beginner or an elite runner, this fast-flat course will give you the opportunity to do one of the fastest half’s you’ve ever done.

The Course is certified by a Certificated Road Race Course Measurer for World Athletics. Grade and certified in corporation with AIMS.

There will be a Walking section in both the half marathon and 9km, and a Hybrid in the half marathon. "This allows you to run a bit and walk a bit". With the Kidz Dash being a 3km run, this giving them a flavour of the experience of running in a big event. Their run will be around the lake.

We have had a lot of inquiries about the event from the North Island and Australia. We are offering the half marathon and 9km as a Virtual Half Marathon and Virtual 9km, run or walk. Competitors can register as per normal but click the Virtual Run or Walk. After the event we will put your results up as a Virtual Race and send you out your medal.

Start Times:
All Walkers and Hybrid will start at 8:30am with race brief at 8:20am.
All Half Marathon Runners will start at 9:00am with race brief at 8:50am.
All 9km Runners will start at 9:10am with race brief immediately after half marathon runners have started.
The Kidz Dash will start at 9:15am with race brief immediately after the 9km Runners have started.
