About Brave Summit 2024
Brave Summit 2024 is about bringing people together around social justice, and what it might take to make it a reality. The event includes an afternoon of workshops, followed by an evening celebration with kai and presentations about Māia’s work, including the launch of a new research project focussed on truancy. Māia is also hosting an illustration competition for a new book to be published for 2025, and the chance to see and vote on the entries.

About Social Justice
Before you ask, we take social justice to relate to the belief that every person is of equal worth, and on that basis should to be recognised and treated equally and with respect for who they are.
We understand social injustice to relate to the social structures or human actions which cause people to experience unfairness in how they are treated or what they can achieve.
We believe that addressing social injustice and achieving social justice means that we need to work to reduce unjustified inequalities across society, including in education.
