Come along and plant native species near the famous Baring Head Lighthouse in East Harbour Regional Park.
In a few years’ time it’s going to look very different so if you’d like to be part of the team restoring this stunning location, we’d love your help.
This planting day is perfect for those who enjoy a bit of physical activity, as you’ll be carrying plants and digging holes.
This is also an opportunity to explore the heritage listed lighthouse complex and check out the work underway to restore the cottages and outbuildings.
This is not suitable for young children and recommended for 13 years and above. There is a toilet in the carpark and next to the lighthouse. No dogs are allowed in this park.
What to bring/wear:
• Sturdy boots or gumboots
• Long sleeves and pants, and a waterproof jacket are essential. Layering and wearing a hat or beanie is a good way to stay warm. This site can be very exposed, so it is a good idea to bring a spare change of clothes.
• Feel free to bring your own favourite spade and gloves.
• Bring your own water bottle, lunch, and snacks.
We provide:
• Plants and planting tools, gloves.
• An experienced team leader, health and safety management and training.
Weather: This event is weather dependent. We will update all those that have registered via email before 6pm on 16th August.
