future ANCESTORS is a three-night showcase of dance, comedy and poetry, from queer Māori and Pasifika creatives in Tāmaki Makaurau.
In this space, Indigenous people at the forefront and asked us to interrogate our relationships with our ancestors in consideration of our descendants. We are the future Ancestors—how will our mokopuna look upon us?
Each creative has been asked the question, “What kind of ancestor do you want to be?” and will interpret this provocation through their performance.
