Auckland Heritage Festival: Highwic Baking - ingredients with a Pacific influence.
Wednesday 2nd of October 11am to 1pm.

The Highwic volunteer cooks recreate recipes that reflect the influence of ingredients from the Pacific Islands on baked goods. And they’re doing it in a Victorian kitchen using a Victorian coal range!
Highwic is fortunate to have handwritten recipes from women in the Buckland family, many of which reflect the influence of ingredients from the Pacific Islands. Follow the delicious smell of authentic baking and witness the volunteer cooks at work in Highwic's kitchen.

This event is part of Auckland Council’s Auckland Heritage Festival 2024, 28 September to 13 October. From late August visit heritagefestival.co.nz for the full list of events. Print programmes are available at Auckland Libraries from 9 September.

For festival updates follow on Facebook @aklheritage.
Adults $10, accompanied children and Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga members are free. Maximum four children per adult. Includes entry to the house.
Parking is available onsite for visitors to Highwic.
