Join artist Finn Ferrier as he discusses his rope objects in Luff. Ferrier will talk about the materiality of rope and how it has influenced this current series of works. No registration required.

Currently presented in our major exhibition, Ferrier's rope vessels are constructed entirely of decorative knots without the use of any chemical bonds. In recent works, Ferrier has been thinking of his works like ceramics.

Friction, tension and gravity determine the shapes, along with personal experience and tacit understanding. These vessels are made in one direction with one piece of rope, with exception to the handles, which are applied afterwards, he said.
