Three award-winning musicians join forces in a programme celebrating friendship and virtuosity.

Natalia Lomeiko (winner, Michael Hill International Violin Competition and ‘Premio Paganini’), Yuri Zhislin (founder, Camerata Tchaikovsky and professor of violin and viola at the Royal College of Music, London) and Sarah Watkins (three-time winner of the Aotearoa Music Awards Best Classical Artist) present a delightful evening of chamber music. Romantic repertoire by Brahms and his dear friends Clara and Robert Schumann, is juxtaposed by the evocative colourings and fireworks of Szymanowski, and Shostakovich’s charming 5 pieces for violin, viola and piano.

Clara Schumann: 3 Romances for violin and piano
Robert Schumann: Phantasie in C major
Karol Szymanowski: La fontaine d’Arethuse; Nocturne and Tarantella
Johannes Brahms: Sonata for viola and piano in E flat major, op. 120 no. 2
Dmitri Shostakovich: 5 Pieces for violin, viola and piano
