ACVC: Beach Volleyball: Social or Training

Auckland Central Volleyball Club presents the 2024-2025 Summer Series of Beach Volleyball! See our other listed events for beach competitions, have-a-go days, indoor opportunities and volleyball fun for all ages!

This is Beach Volleyball TRAINING and SOCIAL PLAY!
Improve your sand skills with beach volleyball training sessions, and take those skills to the beach on our social net! These sessions are ideal for those with some experience in indoor or beach volleyball of any age/gender that want to make sure they cover all their bases and hone their skills.
An open SOCIAL PLAY net will be available on both Tuesday and Thursday night sessions from 6pm (same time as adult training).

Our beach training will go through all the basic skills involved in two-a-side beach volleyball, allowing you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the game - Hopefully having some fun while we’re at it! To get the most complete coverage of the game, you should plan to attend a full series. Series tickets are also cheaper than individual tickets.

Each session with internationally experienced & trained Coaches Jo and Diego will include a combination of warm up/physical exercise, explanation & practice of that weeks skill focus topic, relevant tactics and games. Session topics focus on what happens in beach volleyball that differs from indoor volleyball.

The main skill focus topics covered include:
- Serving and ball control in the wind
- Passing & overall game concepts
- Setting and transition setting
- Block pulling
- Attacking shots
- Court awareness
- Defence
- The tricky bits and tactics
- Practice games

- 4:15pm - 5:45pm: Youths (age 12-19) and adults (age 20+)
- 6:00pm - 7:45pm: Youths (age 12-19) and adults (age 20+)

Series 1/Term 4 2024: 29 Oct 2024 -12 Dec 2024 (7 weeks, 17/19 December is reserved for weather make up day)
- Tuesdays Oct 29 - Dec 10
- Thursdays Oct 31 - Dec 12

Series 2/Term 1 2025: 7 Jan - 3 April: TICKETING TO COME ASAP

Individual tickets available for each day but attending the whole series is always recommended

- Event is weather dependent & final decision on cancellation will be made on the day based on current conditions & forecast. Makeup days will be advised ASAP.
- Minimum numbers required to go ahead so please encourage friends to book in and come along!
