In Whanganui we enjoy kicking the year off with a touch of vintage delight,
by bringing together a range of eclectic vintage themed events and attractions for one enthralling long weekend.

Come admire classic cars or hunt for treasures and trinkets at our markets and fairs.
Hop aboard a river cruise or picnic on the riverbank.
Have a good old knees-up or put those feet up and unwind.
The streets will be humming, and the outfits will be stunning.
There’ll be food, fashion, live music, and entertainment for all ages.

This year is an extra special occasion as we celebrate a decade of Whanganui Vintage Weekend, so gather your friends and family together, dress up and get down to experience that unforgettable Whanganui vibe……with a vintage twist.

A packed calendar of events and attractions ensures there is something for everyone, every day. Our main events and attractions for 2023 are:

- A Vintage Do - Porridge Watson Bar - Fri 20, 7pm to late
- Whanganui Retro Market - along the riverbank - Sat 21, 8.30am - 1pm
- Vintage Fair - CBD Sat 21, 10am - 5pm
- The Mainstreet Whanganui Caboodle - Our biggest party! CBD, Sat 21, 10.30am - 10pm
- Vintage Car Club events in and around the city all weekend
- 2023 Rigtec Billy Webb Challenge - Sun 22, 11am to 12 pm
- Riverside Shindig - along the riverbank - Sun 22, 11am to 4pm
- Tami Neilson - live at the Royal Whanganui Opera House - Sun 22, 7pm to 9.30pm
- Plumber Dan Soap Box Derby - Drews Ave, CBD - Mon 23, 9am - 3pm
