Wairarapa Walking Festival 2023 - Wai Dog walk

Bring your friendly dog on a walk on the Kiriwhakapapa historic mill track at the edge of the Tararua Range. The track consists of one big climb to the saddle or you can take the alternate shorter and flatter route.

The track is well formed with bridges, and gentle gradients, but can be a bit muddy in places after rain. Some boggy areas, streams and one large climb. Total ascent is about 230m.

Please remember to bring your Dog Leads and Poo bags! :) and make sure your boots are clean to start with!

Absolutely yes! Dogs can be off leash once they have settled down. Walk leader may request dog/dogs to be put on leash.
