Wairarapa Bookshop Hop

The best booksellers in Wairarapa have come together for another year to give you the ultimate book-lovers weekend out!

Last year we had many requests to extend the fun so that Bookshop Hoppers could have more time at each shop.

So this year, you can collect stamps for your Wairarapa Bookshop Hop map from Friday 6 October to Sunday 8 October (store hours vary, see our website each store's hours).

Register for free at bookshopday.nz and get an extra entry into the draws for $1000 in bookshop vouchers.

One of the (many) great things about Wairarapa is we have 12 fantastic bookshops all within an easy 30 minute drive of one another, so it's entirely possible for you to hop around all 12 bookshops in a single day if you feel so inclined!

Organiser Millie Blackwell of Mrs Blackwell's Village Bookshop in Greytown, was inspired by an event she'd participated in while living in California where knitting stores get together for a Yarn Store Hop every spring. Millie says "Like readers, knitters love variety and the chance to visit a collection of stores with other knitters creates a really fun day with lots of happy energy."
