Take a guided tour around the Aratoi exhibition Our Moon- Then, Now & Beyond then head outside for an evening under the stars. Learn about our nearest neighbour and its importance in the timing for Matariki with the Maramataka- the Māori Lunar Calendar. Observe craters, mountains and surface details through their large telescopes and find the Sea of Tranquility- the Apollo Moon landing site and large crater Tycho. Take the opportunity to take close up moon photos through the scopes.

We will also be exploring some classic winter stars, learning simple navigation techniques and how to find them using complimentary star maps.

$5 per person, under 14's are free but need to be registered and supervised by a paying adult.

Book via Aratoi front desk, call 06 370 0001, online via the online shop or email info@aratoi.co.nz
