The New Things' Ironic T-shirt National Tour! is coming to Hamilton at the Last Place.
The New Things bring you original indie-pop, crush songs, and weird musings, direct from surf suburb, Paekākāriki. In true Aotearoa punk tradition, the band is fully DIY managed, recorded and promoted. They write strong melodic pop with hints of the Magnetic Fields, the Breeders, and Courtney Barnett; perhaps The Clean, Talking Heads, or Sonic Youth.
We will be joined by 2 local bands:
Stone Clones: Birthed in the wild wastes of downtown Hamilton, Stone Clones plays a mix of hard rock, stoner rock, punk rock, and prog rock, with a fresh and modern twist.
Halcyon Birds: Kirikiriroa four-piece Halcyon Birds play jangly iridescent tunes. Their intricate compositions and intimate performances convey a vulnerability reminiscent of the music of Cat Power, Low or Jason Molina.
