Swing Street with Swing 42

Calling all margarita, jazz and swing dance lovers! It's all happening at Muy Muy on the second Wednesday of every month in conjunction with Swingtown Rebels and Katie Jane Events. What a fantastic event we had at the first event on 8 February - it was so good we are bringing Swing 42 back again on the 8 March from 8pm.

Swing 42 are one of New Zealand's most enduring Gypsy swing groups, providing high energy accompaniment for dancers and presenting dynamic and exciting performances at events such as the Christchurch International Jazz and Blues Festival, The Nelson Jazz Festival, Djangonui, Swingtown Rebels annual events, The BECA Heritage Festival and NZ Music Month. Comprised of some of New Zealand's most dedicated and respected jazz musicians, Swing 42 interpret compositions by Django Reinhardt as well as choice jazz and latin standards. Featuring Reuben Derrick on clarinet, Keith Petch on guitar and Mike Kime on Double Bass you'll be swinging in your seat.

Check out this fantastic new bar on Welles St featuring some of the best jazz Ōtautahi has to offer. A $15 ticket (plus bf) will get you a seat at a table right near the dance floor so you can see all the action from the Swingtown Rebels at their social dance night. Better yet, get up and join them!
