After her initial training at the hands of late Pandit Vasantrao Kulkarni of the Agra and Gwalior gharanas, she further honed her skills from Gana Saraswati Smt Kishori Amonkar of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana. With influence from her gurus and a pleasant and unique resonant voice, Arati has carved a niche for herself not only in the classical genre but even in playback singing. A winner of national award for playback singing for films, she also is the recipient of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademy award! She is a born performer and her repertoire includes classical, bhajan, light classical among other and she can sing in Marathi, Konkani, Kannada with equal ease. Effortless and very much at home even in the midst of soul stirring rendering, she takes a tune and makes it her own. Her unique voice and the range that she can travel is a marvel in itself!
