William Shakespeare’s story of star-crossed lovers has inspired composers for more than a century. Join Hamilton’s premier brass band for an evening featuring music inspired directly and indirectly by ‘Romeo & Juliet’. Highlights include music from ‘West Side Story’; ‘Oh Verona’ from Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 movie ‘Romeo & Juliet’; Tchaikovsky’s ‘Romeo & Juliet – Fantasy Overture’; and Prokofiev’s ‘The Montagues and the Capulets’. Further highlights include ‘The Dreaded Hook & Groove’ and Purcell’s ‘Dido’s Lament’ featuring flugel horn Lisa Marshall.
