Maico Camilo Biography
Maico Camilo, was born in Brazil 1982, and left his home country to pursue his education at an early age. At age 23, (2005) Maico decided to make a new move to New Zealand and subsequently met his partner and now husband Lyndon Bray. Due to his partner’s job, Maico has travelled extensively up into Europe, Asia, South America and Oceania. After almost 10 years away from NZ, Maico Camilo and Lyndon are finally back living in New Zealand with their baby “dog” Harry.

​He has lived and worked for an extended period of time in New Zealand and Australia, consequently these experiences have opened him up to the different cultures and environments that have helped him explore the larger questions we all face in life: our reason for being.

​Camilo has set about exploring his own journey through his art, challenging his own paradigms and his reason for being and not being afraid to explore different vocabularies and communication forms through his art. As a result, he is challenging us all to confront the obvious, in terms of what is going on around us.

Maico Camilo's artworks are now held in collections all over the World such as: Brazil, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, England, France, Spain, Amsterdam, Italy, USA, Hong Kong and Japan.
