During the workshop Sue will answer questions and discuss aesthetic issues, clay and glazing options, trimming and problem solving in the studio. You will leave the workshop with your questions answered, ready to try out these new ideas and techniques in your own studio practice.
Sue Newitt has a Diploma in Fine Arts from Otago Polytechnic and has been making a diverse range of work using porcelain and stoneware for over 30 years. You can read more about Sue and view her online gallery at www.suenewittceramics.nz
This is a hands on workshop starting at 10:00am and finishing at 3:00pm . You will be required to provide your own clay so that you learn using a clay you feel comfortable throwing.
Note: You must be able to throw a straight cylinder on the wheel !
There will be a break for lunch at 12:00ish so bring a sharing plate (optional). Tea and coffee is provided.
