One of those...

"One of those" - a play featuring D'Arcy Cresswell, retelling the story of Mayor Charles Mackay & the 'W(h)anganui Incident'.

Pouhere Taonga/Heritage New Zealand have just announced that the Duigan Building on Ridgway Street, where the 'Whanganui incident' took place back in 1920, has been given a Category 1 Heritage Listing. What makes this doubly incredible is that it will forever be the leading listing for Aotearoa's Heritage Rainbow List.

To celebrate the listing we've been able to secure a special one off performance of "One of those" from playwright David Charteris at Porridge Watson which is certainly within shooting range of 23 Ridgway Street where Cresswell was shot by Whanganui Mayor Charles Mackay on 15th May 1920.

Join us for the 103rd anniversary of this event and hear the story direct from Cresswell's ghost! The long lost story of the blackmail, shooting by, arrest, gaol, banishment and ultimately shooting of gay Whanganui Mayor Charles Mackay.
