In these uncertain times, art in all its forms can often provide solace and inspiration, and a way of escape. Art gives meaning and helps us understand our topsy-turvey world – it’s a force which helps shape and influence our society. Art can offer a sense of grounding, alleviate anxiety, improves mood, lowers stress and helps regulate emotions, and brings pure joy.

As Gordon Gee eloquently puts it:
“The arts, quite simply, nourish the soul. They sustain, comfort, inspire. There is nothing like that exquisite moment when you first discover the beauty of connecting with others in celebration of larger ideals and shared wisdom”.

This exhibition, NOURISH THE SOUL, is intended to evoke warmth and optimism and to help rediscover our own soul and balance, our imagination and creativity – in effect to nourish our souls through the joy of connecting with others and the beauty they create.

We are delighted to host this exhibition of well known and emerging Northland artists including Rachel Barber, Joanne Barrett, Mike Cameron, Bernie Coetzer, Catherine Dunn, Wendy Galbraith, Joan Honeyfield, Jody Hope Gibbons, Mike Nettmann, Paul Samson, Judi Soutar, Erika Wasner and Logan White. We'll be featuring a wonderful range of original pieces and paintings - love to see you.

The exhibition will run from the opening on 28 November at 4.00pm until Saturday 13 January 2024.
