Transform your data delivery with Microsoft Fabric
This set of training explores how to create effective data outcomes within the Fabric framework from Microsoft. Fabric is currently in pre release, open to production release by the end of 2023, so you need to get onto it now, understand the toolset, how it operates and how to leverage it for your organisations data program, today.
We cover how to take data from source systems and file, move into the cloud into data lake areas and build powerful analytics on top.
Course outline
In this two-half day virtual course, participants will learn:
• What is Fabric
• The problem it solves for an organisation
• Opening Fabric and working through the user interface
• Creating a Data Mesh like Data Domain
• Taking a base dataset in file format
• Moving this dataset into a Data Lake structure
• Running admin tasks across the dataset
• Creating a workspace on this Data Domain
• Extending Power BI to create analytics across multiple data storage layers within Fabric architecture’, including:
o Building Power BI reporting across Warehouse models
o Building on lakehouse data
o Connecting other analytic tools to your datasets, including Machine Learning and other analytical engines
• Matching these Fabric tools with the other native tools from Azure to showcase pros and cons
• Showcase where this fits into a data architecture
• How to discuss Fabric within your organisation
• How Fabric will impact your business ability to reduce delivery time to outcome
• Governance impacts around Fabric
