Join Professor Simone Celine Marshall for an illuminating talk on the medieval foundations of English Literature.

From Beowulf in the 8th or 9th century, the development of Arthurian legend from the 12th century, and the towering works of Geoffrey Chaucer in the late 14th century, find out how these colossal works have helped to shape a thousand years of plot and prose, myth and metre.

Professor Simone Celine Marshall BA (Victoria), BA Hons (Waikato), MA Hons (Waikato), PhD (Sydney), FRHistS, teaches Medieval Literature, Chaucer, Calligraphy, Palaeography and Codicology in the University of Otago’s English and Linguistics Programme.
