Lorna Zhang – Cello

Lorna Zhang is a violinist from Auckland, New Zealand. She is currently an undergraduate at the University of Auckland, studying under the guidance of Stephen Larsen. As a chamber musician, Lorna received the Helen Young Diamond Award in the NZCT National Chamber Music Contest 2020, also placing third in the 2022 contest. She is part of a chamber group, Kaha Trio, performing regularly around Auckland and is an ‘Aspiring Musicians’ ensemble in association with Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

This concert is part of the Rising Stars Concert Series 2023. A new Tuesday lunchtime concert series that’s encouraging, supporting, nurturing and providing a performance platform for emerging young musicians.
