Lindsey Shields, Sophia Bidwell & Friends
Dunedin singer songwriter Lindsey Shields will be joined by Sophia Bidwell from Christchurch, and a couple of other friends including a cameo appearance from local musician Mike Moroney.

Lindsey is a songwriter and recording artist who has played clubs and festivals both in NZ and overseas over many years, despite the inevitable obscurity following her appearance in a pop music discovery spot on TV early on. She loves accompanying traditional tunes, which will also feature in tonight's concert. As well as solo shows, Lindsey has performed in various line-ups including Folkalyptica, Half Legendary Men, Erin St, Rhonda and the Ravers and The Pog Band.

Originally a classical pianist, Sophia Bidwell has been a convert to the piano accordion for many years. She plays in a number of bands including Manuka Hunnies, Folkalyptica, Cafe Operana, and sometimes when she’s lucky, the Dunedin Ceilidh Orchestra. Although awfully fond of tunes, she also loves playing for a good song.

Mike Moroney is well known both here and overseas for his long involvement in the New Zealand folk scene as a perfomer and instigator of Kiwifolk and, more recently, the NZ Aotearoa Folk Alliance. Performing in a range of genres, Mike is half of the duo Catgut & Steel and plays in the Dunedin Ceilidh Orchestra. Former bands include The Chaps and The Pog Band.
