Jokes on Her - Comedy Show

Join us for a night of belly laughs at Kennedy's for this year's Eat, Drink & Play festival! Our 'Jokes on Her' comedy show is hosted by Scottish comedian Samantha Hannah (and her alter egos), alongside some of New Zealand's top comedians who recently smashed their performances in the 2023 Wellington Fringe and New Zealand Comedy Festivals. Professional funny people on the mic include Jerome Chandrahasen, Hoani Hotene, and Patch Lambert.

Jerome Chandrahasen is a regular feature in the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and New Zealand Fringe Festival. He has taken his solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Nelson, and a nice little pub up in Kāpiti. Every Monday, you can find him at Fringe Bar running Raw Meat Monday, which is Wellington's longest-running stand-up comedy gig.

Hoani Hotene is an award-winning comedian who has been doing shows in Australia and New Zealand over the past 3 years. Possessing a lively and eccentric style, Hoani recently performed in both the Melbourne Comedy Festival and New Zealand International Comedy Festival. Hoani is a cool comic from Ngāti Hauā who has several ways to get audiences laughing. Mixing different styles and speeds, Hoani is a fan favorite with the crowd!

Patch Lambert seemingly exists entirely to answer the oft-wondered question "what does one get when you cross Master Yoda with a bogan?" Patch has become a regular feature throughout the New Zealand comedy scene and owns his own style of stand-up, mixing honest and reflective storytelling with sharp gags and trademark cheekiness. Patch has captured the laughter of audiences all over the country, was also nominated for the 2017 Billy T Award, and has appeared on and written for the popular show - 7 Days.

Samantha Hannah blasted back onto the comedy scene in 2018 after a 5-year hiatus, and it didn't take her long to prove that, whatever "it" is, she's got it! Samantha was nominated for Best Comedian & Best MC in the 2022 Wellington Comedy Awards. She always brings the energy and provides some truly side-splitting performances.

Burger Romance will also be in the house from 5:00 pm, hosting a pop-up kitchen and serving up mouthwatering burgers. So don't miss out; get there early to fill your belly and then laugh until your cheeks hurt with some seriously funny specimens on the mic!
