The Dunedin Jazz Club Popup season kicks off at Dish on February 3rd with the Isaac Randel Quintet. Isaac on the tenor saxophone has been a regular fixture in the Dunedin jazz scene for the last few years, having recently played in the Bill Martin Septet for the launch of Bill Martin’s album “Over to you”.
Isaac has brought together some of Dunedin’s finest young jazz talent - Finn McKinlay on trombone, Jack Ta on keys, Darcy Monteath on bass and guest drummer from Wellington, Harry Lentell on drums. This group of musicians have played together in various combinations over the years, but we are thrilled to be bringing them together in one place for the first time. The quintet will be playing a selection of standards from John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter and others.
Come along with friends and enjoy the intimate atmosphere, with beverages and food available from the Dish cafe and bar.
