We, at Gabriela Aotearoa, would like to invite you all to commemorate this day with us, to recognize the efforts and achievements of women across the globe. Let us also take this gathering as an opportunity to take proactive action to end gender inequality, discrimination, oppression, and violence and abuse against women and girls.
A small program will be held on March 5 from 1:30- 3:00 PM at Waitangi Park, Herd Street, Te Aro Wellington. We are also inviting various unions and other women-led organisations in Wellington to share their wisdom and support. The highlight of the event is to dance to ´Break the Chain´. This choreographed song and dance has been the anthem for One Billion Rising since 2012. We would really appreciate it if everyone can join us for this cause.

What to bring- your own bottled water, sunscreen, snacks (optional), hat and small towel or wear something that can protect you from the heat of the sun. Make sure to have your lunch before heading to the event. Please ensure health and safety all the time, don’t come to event if feeling unwell as per Ministry of Health policy.
