HBAF 2023 - Gráda

Laying claim to a raft of awards and rave reviews spanning a 20-year period, Irish supergroup Gráda has reunited in 2023 to tour Ireland and New Zealand. Rooted in traditional Irish music with influences from folk, jazz, world music and Americana, the band has been described as being “to Irish music what Arcade Fire is to Indie – informal, prodigious and full of spirit” (The Washington Post).

With a live show exuding energy and an improvisation element that made them unique within the traditional music world, the band’s repertoire is seeded with original songs and instrumentals that have captured the imaginations of audiences the world over.

Including members from both Ireland and NZ, Gráda has toured extensively with headline performances at multiple European and American folk festivals, and major international venues. A break to pursue individual projects solidified the talent of these brilliant performers, and in 2020 the band reformed to play a one-off concert in NZ.

Their most recent album Natural Angle was voted one of the top folk albums in the USA and this year the Irish music sensation promises to bring down the house with their toe-tapping energy and vibrant spirit.
