~ Welcome to weekly Yoga Classes in Motueka ~

In these classes we emphasize alignment of the body, awareness of breath and arriving in the present. We open up and release tightness and tension from the body as well as from the mind. By increasing our awareness of the breath we shift our attention from the busy mind into the experience of the body.

We usually start the class with a few minutes of meditation to arrive and center ourselves. Then we move into the yoga asanas (poses), which are a combination of standing, seated, twists, and reclined ones. As we move through the asanas we are tuning in to our bodies and selves, more and more. We hold each pose for a little longer time, learning to stay with whatever is arising. Through this we not only raise our awareness but also build stamnia and patience – all with a relaxed and centered mind.

All classes finish with a deep relaxation and short meditation – to integrate the whole practise and enjoy moments in stillness.

I wish for you to cultivate a yoga practise to help you feel relaxed as well as energized. A balanced yoga practise can help us discover peace and clarity – and at the same time leaving us feeling open, enthused and full of life.

These weekly classes are open to everyone – beginners are just as welcome as seasoned yogis. We can work with (or around) different ailments or conditions (given your physician's approval). I will meet you where you are on your journey and work with your from there.

I have been practising yoga myself for 20+ years and have experienced tremendous benefits on all levels; physically as well as mentally, emotionally and energetically. It is my passion and great joy to share this profound practise with others - such as your self.
