Free Lunchtime Organ Concert with Robert Cleaver

Friends of the Christ Church Organ are happy to welcome back Robert Cleaver to play in our June free lunchtime concert series!

On June 7th at 12:15, Robert will be playing “A Little Bit of This and A Little Bit of That” including works from Johnny Pearson, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Eddie Smith and more! Please join us for this celebration of the Organ and it’s many works! No entry fee, koha at the door!

A little bit about Robert:

Robert commenced piano tuition in Palmerston North, at the age of 7 years, with the late Mavis Francis.
Later he commenced Organ tuition with the late John Pryor on the organ of St Peters’ Anglican Church, Palmerston North, gaining his ATCL Teaching Diploma.
Robert was organist at St Johns’ Presbyterian Church Palmerston North before becoming Organist at St Davids’ Presbyterian Church in 1972, a position from which he retired early in April, 2015.
All styles of music appeal to Robert, and he enjoys performing on piano, organ, and other keyboard instruments.
In the wider community Robert can often be found playing for church services, accompanying choral groups and soloists, performing at concerts, weddings, funerals, dinners, rest homes, and other special occasions.
Robert likes to play music that is familiar with his audiences, and is most pleased if those audiences come away smiling.
