Summer is here and to celebrate Downtown Sounds Sunday Special veterans Looking for Alaska will be performing a free concert with special guests.

Bring some snacks, grab some dinner and soak in the sounds, while the sun sets across the Waikato River.

Before Downtown Sounds, @Youthvibes Market will be having stall holders and local musicians perform from 2pm.

About Looking for Alaska:
Looking for Alaska are no strangers to the Kirikiriroa music scene. Winning high praise from RNZ and critics for their beautiful songwriting.
The gorgeous voice of lead singer Amy Maynard has led to a whopping 37,000 Tik Tok followers, enchanted with her beautiful renditions of songs.
Their self tilted was nominated for best debut album at the NZ Taite music awards in 2017 and spent 12 weeks on the NZ album charts, peaking at number 9 on the NZ charts.

The album has received over 100,000 streams on Spotify and has seen Looking for Alaska complete 2 headline tours of NZ, tour internationally in Europe and Australia, at home at the Auckland Folk Festival, Whare Flat Folk Festival, TSB Festival of Lights and Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival.
The band most recent album recording took them to Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios.
