Don’t Bring a Thing Part 2): a Beginner’s Watercolour Workshop
Saturday 9 September / 11.30AM – 3PM / $100PP

This half day watercolour workshop consolidates the first part of the course and then provides participants with increased knowledge, and exciting new skills and techniques. It is also suitable for artists who have some basic knowledge of watercolour.

You will be introduced to key elements of design, composition, basic perspective, colour combinations, tones, limited palettes, and glazing, all which help to provide depth and harmony to your work. You will also be able to experiment with different brush techniques, to create your own individual mark making style.

Your tutor, Neela Curran, will demonstrate all techniques in an easy relaxed format. You will use top quality artists grade paints, paper, and brushes, supplied during the workshop. If you enjoyed Part 1, you will absolutely love Part 2! Even though the emphasis is on experimenting with processes, you will explore how to paint landscapes as well as a still life Mediterrean window scene with flower pots, as in the image.

Watercolour kit sets with paper, paints and brushes, will be available for purchase from the tutor following the workshop for $70 per pack, to enable you to continue practising your new skills from the get-go. Please note the tutor has no eftpos facilities.

This workshop is for people aged 18 and above.
Tea and coffee provided.
Please bring a packed lunch or support your local cafes and shops.
About the tutor:
Award winning Australian/British artist and tutor Neela Curran, strongly believes that a few people are born with natural talent… and that she is not one of them… but that the other 99 per cent of people can learn to paint and draw, like learning to read and write.

Neela is passionate about introducing beginners to the therapeutic world of art, and once believing that she had no drawing or painting skills whatsoever, taught herself to paint reading over 100 watercolour books and then developed an easy going, relaxed style of teaching to help beginners feel comfortable, gain confidence and self esteem.
