The Friends of Bolton Street Cemetery invite you on a tour of the cemetery featuring tales of crime and punishment.

We’ll take a wander to find those who were responsible, in the earliest days of the settlement of Wellington (and our country) for creating and enforcing the law, those who sat in the law courts, and those who kept incarcerated the people who failed to observe the law. There’s a duellist, judges galore, police and military law enforcers, and even a criminal or two.

Tours start at the Bolton Street Cemetery Museum, Lower Bolton Street, and will last 1.5 hours. Cost $10 per person, but free for children. Each tour will be limited to 30 people, so book early to avoid disappointment.

This event is not suitable for wheelchairs. Please wear sturdy shoes, as some of the paths are steep and can be slippery. Care is required.
