Did you know that plastic produce bags, straws, and cutlery are banned in Aotearoa as of the 1st of July?
It's Plastic Free July, and there will be lots of reusable alternatives for sale, but Anō Anō is all about DIY and handmaking things with love. SO, for the month of July, we're focusing on making reusable items to replace plastics that we use around the home and out and about.
Come along and have a go at making your own - or ask someone if they can make some for you for a koha. Here's just some of the things we'll be making:
Bamboo Straws, drawstring produce bags, whittled wooden cutlery & chopsticks, fabric cutlery & straw holders, Kaitaia Kete shopping bags, beeswax wraps, washable sandwich & snack bags, reusable menstrual items, washable wee wipes, reusable nappies, elasticated bowl covers for leftovers, handkerchiefs, rags. And anything else you can think of and want to try!
Come along and have a go or ask us for what you need.
