CLO3D Design Workshop (Online via Zoom)

This workshop is brought to you by the Textile Hub, an innovative educational business dedicated to empowering individuals and businesses through a curated selection of short courses.

Content
In this introductory CLO3D workshop you will learn the basics of how to navigate around this 3D Fashion Design programme using the relevant virtual sewing and pattern making construction tools to develop a garment. This one day course will cover the basic workflow of designing on an avatar (mannequin) in a 3D workspace, developing a simple pattern using both the 2D and 3D windows, and adjusting the garment in real-time. Virtually sewing up and conducting a fit assessment of the garment, you will learn how to manipulate and amend your digital pattern for a better fit and style, just like you would with a physical first sample.

We will then look at fabrics and trims offered in the CLO3D library, basic print development and colourway options for your garment. The last step we will cover is the final rendering and image output for presentations of garments with and without avatars in CLO3D.

Each participant will get a digital certificate on completion of the course.

Session One: Morning 9.00 am -12.00 noon
Lunch break: 12.00 noon - 1.00 pm
Session Two: Afternoon 1.00 - 4.00 pm

Each of the two sessions will be a series of live screen sharing of small teaching lessons, followed by self-directed time online together to trial the skills learnt by designing your own garment in CLO3D.

We will be using Zoom software, and will use the screen share function if you encounter any issues or need 1:1 help at specific points.
This will all be a live session, with online teaching in real-time.

Prerequisites
Workshop requirements for Remote Learning: You will need to have a good internet connection, with the ability for live video calls, with a webcam.

You will need the CLO3D programme installed on your computer (make sure your computer can run this software without buffering, check the specs of your computer first online). You can do this by accessing the free 30-day trial just for this course and you can subscribe later if you wish to continue using the CLO3D software:

Participants need to be computer literate. To get the most out of this workshop, it is helpful to have moderate computer knowledge such as knowing the Adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), as well as having a basic understanding of pattern-making and sewing construction methods.
