Influenced by the West Coast music of the 60s, Carol hung out at McCabe’s Music in Santa Monica, where she took guitar lessons from Dave Cohen and Ry Cooder. At Ry’s suggestion, she auditioned for and bought an old Martin 0021, which she has carted around the world ever since, and it is still her go-to guitar. Many of her band's songs are the stories of this time.
Twango Deluxe; a sonic journey back to a time when men liked their Martinis shaken, not stirred, women wore white go-go boots, and everyone wondered how the unfolding space race would play out. Expect a heaped helping of cool spy themes, reverb drenched surf numbers and other retro favourites, all given a twangy, deluxe treatment.
