2023 is a year of note for Broad Bay: 175 years since the official European settlement of the area, 100 years since the Boat Club was founded, and 75 years since the Polish Church was moved here.
The Broad Bay Community Centre is hosting an exhibition of images, words, stories and artefacts charting the history of Broad Bay through its changing population and institutions, drawing on material from the community and other archival sources.
During the week there are talks by author Neville Peat, and poet Alan Roddick. There are open days at the historic Fletcher House, the unique Polish Catholic Church and the Broad Bay School. At the weekends there are opportunities to partake of a delicious vintage afternoon tea.
Books and photographs for sale.
