Spend some quality time with a young person (9 years +) in your life, and together immerse yourself in the art of Bonsai.
Bonsai is the very popular Japanese and East Asian living art of growing and training miniature trees in containers. Depending on a person's culture or beliefs, bonsai trees are seen as symbols of harmony, balance, patience, or even luck. Children especially are often fascinated by the “fairy trees”.
Under the guidance of bonsai expert and landscaping artist Che Vincent, you will learn how to care for, cultivate and maintain these special little trees. Then take home your own miniature trident Maple Tree.
Please note that this workshop is specifically for adult-child pairs: one child (9years +) accompanied by one adult only.
$35 per pair. Sponsorship available. Bookings essential!
This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for workshop questions or to ask about sponsorship options.
