New Zealand Archaeology Week is held annually to raise awareness and highlight the importance of protecting our archaeological heritage and to promote the work of New Zealand's archaeologists.

Archaeology is all about putting together clues to understand the past. Learn about the methods and technology the experts use to solve puzzles and discover how people used to live, what they ate and what tools they used. Hear talks by archaeologists and experience hands-on activities such as sorting shells and bone, reconstructing pottery vessels, artefact analysis and so much more!
