A curious thing happens in the first movement of Schubert’s String Quintet: the music unfolds to reveal a melody we seem to have known all our life, even if it’s the first time we’ve heard the piece. It’s just one of Schubert’s miracles. Yanghe Yu leads his APO colleagues in a concert consisting solely of a jewel of the repertoire which all musicians adore.
