You're invited to a free family fun day for all, the Birkenhead Borough Queen Carnival!
To celebrate the end of the World Wars (1929 & 1953), Birkenhead Borough held unique fun fundraising events in the form of "Queen" carnivals.
Come celebrate with us at our reimagined Vintage Queen Carnival, there will be fun for all ages! Stop by to enjoy the free opening act - "The Madeleines Trio", marvel at vintage cars of 1927 - each with their own story, swing along with swing dancers, and learn about local history on our guided tour. Shop 'till you drop with our op shop hop, over 8 stores to discover while swinging to live Vintage Jazz of the era. This year our carnival finale performance will the be Society Jazzmen, a fantastic 6 piece Dixieland Jazz Band that will swing you out with over 250 years of history!
For the children; the free train rides with Sammy the Train, free face painting and balloon twisting, free vintage games, candy floss, diggity dogs and more are all sure to wow the kids as you explore our Vintage Queen Carnival. Don't miss JP the strolling carnival clown from 11-1 and Inkiana Press are sponsoring an opportunity for the kids to make their own memorabilia poster!
Spot prizes will be up for grabs for people in their Vintage Best, focusing on 1953, the year of the Queen's coronation!
