Action April
Taking small steps towards big change - together!
Visit the National Aquarium this April to learn how we can all work together to help the environment.

Action April is all about having fun completing a range of interactive activities throughout the aquarium, as well as having the opportunity to attend various events and workshops throughout the month. You'll learn all about six Rs - recycle, repair, reuse, rethink, refuse and reduce – which can make a real difference when done in small steps.

• Who can sew on a button the fastest?
• Find out what your carbon footprint is.
• Play the age game to learn how long some products really last in our environment.
• Hunt through our fridge and rustle up a 'meal' to understand about food waste.
• Contribute to our amazing community rug using recycled material.
• Challenge your family and friends to the recycling race.
• Win one of three delicious dining vouchers to use when exploring Hawke's Bay's amazing cycle trails with your whānau. Thank you to Clive Hotel, Hygge at Clifton Bay, and Westshore Beach Inn, for being involved.
• Take part in workshops and events
