'Within Our Hands' Art Exhibition: CANCELLED

Local artist Ruth Killoran will be showcasing her original paintings over a 2 week period at The Pumanawa Gallery, The Arts Centre, Christchurch.

Ruth's collection of work aims to be thought-provoking, inspiring and maybe challenging. Her aim is to initiate conversation and ultimately change people's everyday choices and behaviour.

Ruth is inspired to create from strong human emotions and has always liked to express herself through her creativity.

Ruth has been described as a fluidly energetic artist whose work commands attention and she is gaining a reputation for producing intriguing, original work. She exhibits regularly in New Zealand, winning awards here and overseas.

All work will be for sale and visitors can put their name down to have a chance to win a limited edition print of her popular painting 'You Are What You Eat'.

25% of sales will go to The Christchurch Vegan Society.

Ruth says
"My exhibition is respectfully trying to show that people need to change their behaviour regarding what and who they consume.

We treat animals, birds and fish as commodities to exploit for profit."

"The time has come to transition away from animal agriculture; for them, the enviroment and our own health."
