Patricia Grace is a literary pioneer and an award-winning Aotearoa New Zealand novelist, short story writer and children’s writer.
Of Ngāti Toa, Ngāti Raukawa and Te Ati Awa descent, Patricia is a foundational figure in the rise and development of Māori fiction. As one commentator says: “While conveying a compelling story, Patricia has a powerful ability to enable the reader to see the world through her character’s eyes, to open up diverse issues, to make us see their human implications, to explore language and form with a poetic sensibility, and … has provided an invaluable Māori voice and perspective to our literature, which was previously woefully absent.”
Her novels and stories are an intrinsic part of Aotearoa NZ literature, and just recently she published her memoir, 'From The Centre A Writer's Life', which is shortlisted for the Ockham NZ Book Awards.
Join Patricia Grace in a compelling conversation with Arihia Latham (Kāi Tahu) about an extraordinary writer’s life.
