‘What Dreams May Come’ the much-anticipated debut album from Ponēke based composer and jazz musician Louisa Williamson, will have its exclusive live preview at St Peter’s church!

Expect to be transported into an ambient soundscape of live sound and big band textures.

“As a musician, my role within the wider community has become clearer throughout the pandemic. I feel a responsibility to create and interpret beauty out of stress and tragedy, and reflect the times we are living in.” Williamson says.

‘What Dreams May Come’ creates a hybrid coalescence of ambient music, modern big band jazz and classical. Inspired by the works of Brian Eno and Maria Schneider, the album consists of four movements, through compositions, played by a seventeen-piece ensemble.

Touted as a unique talent about to make her mark on the music world, Louisa Williamson is based in Pōneke, Aotearoa. She has played the saxophone for L.A.B., Trinity Roots, Dawn Diver, Bret McKenzie Band, The Rodger Fox Big Band, Lord Echo, Louis Baker, Rob Ruha and AJA – as well as fronting her own jazz group that plays her compositions regularly.

'What Dreams May Come' is set to be released by the boundary-breaking Ponēke record label Blue Riot Records.

Special thanks to Creative New Zealand for the support in creating this album.
