Join us on Sunday 3rd July at 2pm at the hall behind Brain Watkins house to hear Vivian Edwards. After seeing Mary Sutherland’s memorial plaque in the Redwood Grove at Whakarewarewa, Vivien set out to answer the question, how did a woman gain employment with the State Forest Service in the 1920s? The research led to writing a book ‘A Path Through the Trees’ which was awarded the 2021 ARANZ (Archives and Records Association of New Zealand) Ian Wards prize.

Tauranga Historical Society (THS) Talks are open to all. The $2 door charge includes afternoon tea and a chance to network with others that share your passion for history.
