The mushrooms we see in forests are, as fruiting bodies’, merely the shop-front for extensive networks of underground fungal mycelia. Trees and associated vegetation form mutually beneficial (and sometimes destructive) relationships with such networks. These relationships allow forests to function as stable self-contained entities.
This easy 75-minute walk will help us to improve our appreciation of this important aspect of nature.

To keep everyone safe, all walk attendees, including visitors, guides and tail-enders, must present their Covid-vaccination pass certificates. Children under 12 will be able to the join walks after they have been vaccinated, although the walks are not designed with this age group in mind.
