The Christchurch Big Band Festival Picnic: CANCELLED

The Big Band Picnic is back! Covid threw some hurdles in our path which prevented us from being able to run this fun event during the Big Band Festival over Labour Day weekend, but we are thrilled to announce a new date for the music and merriment to take over the Archery Lawn.

Bring your picnic blanket, your lawn chairs, your friends, whānau and children for what is going to be a Sunday to remember. Six of the finest local big bands will take the stage from 11am-4:30pm including the all amazing, all inspiring All Girl Big Band!

Food, coffee and ice cream vendors will be on site.

This free event is made possible with help from the Christchurch City Council, Rata Foundation and Creative Communities as well as donations from the public.

Don't forget to slip, slop, slap and wrap to protect yourself from the sun.

We'll see you at the Archery Lawn in the Botanic Gardens on Sunday 27 March!
